Student Spotlight: Ava Lin Wins National Poetry Contest

Congratulations to junior Ava Lin, whose poem “Echoes on the Ridge” was selected as a national winner in the 2025 Youth Voices Literary Contest, hosted by the American Poetry Foundation. Ava’s work stood out among 5,000+ entries for its imagery, emotional depth, and powerful voice.

“Writing helps me understand the world and my place in it,” said Ava during her reading at the awards ceremony in Chicago.

Her poem will be published in the Foundation’s annual anthology and featured on their website.
